Christmas by Marina Barcenilla Parfums

Christmas is the season of the limited release with companies trying to reward and attract in equal measure. The thought of acquiring something special from your favourite brand sends gifting budgets rocketing but also means that expectations are seriously raised. Will they live up to the hype? One section of the market that seems to be more successful is the “independent”, possibly because they create in smaller quantities but also because they can make their Christmas offering truer to their own style. Marina Barcenilla Parfums has released three Christmas products this year and every one of them is a winner.

Marina Barcenilla launched The Perfume Garden, which was the company’s original name, back in 2010 and it was under this identity that she won the 2016 FiFi Award for Best New Independent Fragrance with India. This spurred her on to rename and rebrand the business, and so on 1st December 2016 the new Marina Barcenilla Parfums was launched. 2017 saw her once again win the FiFi Award for Best New Independent Fragrance, this time with Black Osmanthus, but what can we expect this Christmas from the company that Eluxe named “Best Natural Perfume Brand”?

Marina has launched three products in her Christmas range and you will probably already have seen the Waiting For Santa Candle in my Top Candles For Christmas article last week. The candle is described as “a warm and comforting candle scented with the aroma of cookies, soft toffee, spices, and a cake still in the oven”, and that is a pretty good description. There is also a lot of citrus in there and the throw of scent is outstanding, especially as it is created solely with naturals. If you buy one candle this Christmas then it has to be this one. It is priced at £45 for 210g.

The second addition to the Christmas range is Marina’s Christmas Star Bath and Body Oil. The fact that you can use this product in two different ways means that it’s not going to be sitting on the shelf for very long, and so it makes a great gift. Described as “a mouth watering bath and body oil which uses citrus, spice and vanilla to create an almost edible experience”, it is also enriched with jojoba, camellia oil and rosehip. As it’s Christmas it also comes with a little touch of festive sparkle but, don’t worry, it’s not noticeable on the skin. It is priced at £30 for 200ml.

The final part of Marina’s Christmas Trio is the Noel Reed Diffuser. This was a staple when the company was still The Perfume Garden, and when you smell it you can understand why people continue to love it. It is an unashamedly citrus explosion but a mouthwatering candied fruit warms the mandarin and orange zest. The festive twist is provided by a touch of cinnamon with clove and the throw from this is once again incredible. This is the perfect diffuser for those who love their Christmas more citrus than pine. It is priced at £49 for 100ml.

The whole range is available from the Marina Barcenilla Parfums website at MBParfums.com but don’t wait for too long if you want it delivered in time for Christmas.
