The way that we apply fragrance, and use fragrance, has always been a subject that has divided perfume fans. However, this idea that a true “perfume” is something that is spritzed out of a bottle, rather than something that is contained within a product, has been hotly challenged over the past decade. Scented face care has built on Nivea and Estee Lauder foundations, shower gels transcended the famous offerings from Molton Brown, and perfumed candles have left Jo Malone London in the shade. The newest release to take scent into a new sphere is C.Atherley, and their stunning Geranium No.4 collection.

GERANIUM No.3 by C.Atherley
This week marks National Relaxation Day, which is held annually on August 15th. First celebrated in 1985, it’s a day when we are all encouraged to “slow down and unwind”, and “focus on taking care of ourselves”. The fast-paced lives that most people lead these days can make self-care a forgotten ritual, but we really do need to make an effort to find time for a moment of calm if we’re to win in the battle against daily stresses. That’s where the act of fragrancing our homes can play a big part, and C.Atherley’s new Mabel Grey-inspired Geranium No.3 Candle is the perfect scented antidote to the daily grind.

STEPHAN'S SIX - SAMANTHA SCRIVEN
Samantha Scriven started writing about fragrance as a challenge to see if she could review one scent every day for a year, and that was back in 2013. Since then she has continued the blog, gone on to write freelance and was also nominated for a 2017 Fragrance Foundation Jasmine Award. After reviewing thousands of scents, what would Samantha choose for herself during “Stephan’s Six”?
