It’s time for the second of my lost pandemic interviews, and this time it’s from early 2021 when we seemed to be ricocheting between lockdowns and restrictions. Neil Chapman, aka The Black Narcissus, is a renowned perfume reviewer and writer, and also the author of Perfume: In Search Of Your Signature Scent. We managed to arrange an e-meet and, two years later, it’s time to finally share the fragranced memories and recommendations that he revealed during his “Stephen’s Six”.

STEPHAN'S SIX - NEIL CHAPMAN
It’s time for the second of my lost pandemic interviews, and this time it’s from early 2021 when we seemed to be ricocheting between lockdowns and restrictions. Neil Chapman, aka The Black Narcissus, is a renowned perfume reviewer and writer, and also the author of Perfume: In Search Of Your Signature Scent. We managed to arrange an e-meet and, two years later, it’s time to finally share the fragranced memories and recommendations that he revealed during his “Stephen’s Six”.

STEPHAN’S SIX - SARAH IRELAND
Many people dream of starting their own perfume brands but few actually turn it into a reality. One person who did, and went on to be award nominated, was Sarah Ireland. Originally a teacher, her debut collection of four fragrances are described as “a small story shared.” After recently launching the charity cologne Speranza, I thought that it was time to find out a little more about Sarah Ireland as I asked her “Stephan’s Six”.

STEPHAN'S SIX - PIA LONG
Originally from Finland, Pia started her UK adventure working for Elizabeth Arden before training in perfumery. An eye for detail and a nose for success saw her move to Lush Cosmetics where she created HQ/29 High Street, “the smell of a lush shop in a bottle”. After moves to Equinox Aromas and Orchadia, Pia launched Olfiction in July 2016, which is described as “the hub for all things fragrance”. With a rich background in fragrance, what would she reveal about her own scented memories during “Stephan’s Six”?

STEPHAN'S SIX - SUSIE WILLIS
Susie Willis is no stranger to success. She sold her first company, Plum Baby, in 2010 for £10m but she still had a desire to further investigate the natural ingredient market. So, in 2016 she launched the skincare range Romilly Wilde and their first fragrance, Idle, was listed in two categories in the 2017 Fragrance Foundation Awards. With nominations for Best New Fragrance In Limited Distribution and Best New Independent Fragrance, I wanted to find out Susie's own perfume memories during "Stephan's Six".

STEPHAN'S SIX - RIA JONES
Ria Jones really is one of the First Ladies of British Musical Theatre. The daughter of an Opera Singer and the sister of Ceri Dupri, one of the UK's leading female impersonators, she was born in Swansea and at the age of nineteen started her career in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. More recently she was Glenn Close's understudy in Sunset Boulevard at the London Coliseum where she took audiences by storm when she played the role of Norma Desmond. Just back from 42nd Street in Paris, she took time out to answer "Stephan's Six" ahead of her return to the role of Norma Desmond in a UK Tour.

STEPHAN'S SIX - SARAH MOYLE
Since leaving Middlesex University Sarah Moyle's acting career has taken her in many different directions. A successful list of theatre credits runs alongside her many television appearances, including Born And Bred, Emmerdale and WPC 56, but it was her regular role as Kimberley in Ricky Gervais' Extras 2 that brought her to most people's attention. Sarah is now permanently to be found in the fictional town of Letherbridge playing the eccentric Valerie in the BBC soap Doctors. In a break from filming I took the chance to find out her perfume memories for "Stephan's Six".

STEPHAN'S SIX - CHRISTINE HAMILTON
Britain’s favourite “Battleaxe” Christine Hamilton has left behind the world of politics to become a “Media Butterfly”. Her childhood was spent in the New Forest before becoming a research assistant at the House of Commons. Christine is always ready and willing to stand up for her beliefs and principles, which makes her a favourite on TV and in the press, but what would she make of “Stephan’s Six”?
