SABOTAGE by Art de Parfum

A bottle of the perfume Sabotage from Art de Parfum
Who wouldn’t like to turn the clock back and relive moments from the past. You could make different choices, take different routes, or just revel in the situations that made you who you are today. Reliving these memories can often be achieved by smelling a fragrance that puts you squarely back in your chosen moment, but what if you want to relive an entire decade? The department store shelves are groaning with the tried and tested perfume releases, but how about plumping for a new scent that conjures up the past? Sabotage from Art de Parfum cleverly takes us to the 90s, and it’s a decade not to be missed.

STEPHAN'S SIX - SIERRA BOGGESS

Sierra Boggess Broadway Actress

An Olivier Award nominated actress, Sierra Boggess made her Broadway debut playing Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid, but is probably still best known for her role as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera and Love Never Dies. She's currently putting the finishing touches to her new album with actor Julian Ovenden, Together... at a Distance, so I thought it was a good time to learn more about her fragrance memories during “Stephan’s Six”.

STEPHAN'S SIX - AMANDA BEADLE

A career in accountancy was not what Amanda Beadle originally envisaged for herself. A dream of going to art school was put to one side and a “sensible” job was encouraged instead. Many years later Amanda returned to her artistic roots, both as a painter and a perfumer, and went on to win the 2018 Art and Olfaction Artisan Award for her debut fragrance, Chienoir. So, after creating for others, it’s time to discover her own fragrance memories during “Stephan’s Six”.

STEPHAN'S SIX - CHRISTOPHE LAUDAMIEL

Christophe Laudamiel originally studied chemistry before making the jump to perfumery and in his early career was jointly responsible for classics such as Polo Blue, Abercombie Fierce and Clinique’s Happy Heart. Now settled with his own company, Dreamair, and a 2018 Art and Olfaction winner for his fragrance Club Design, I thought it was time to discover his own scented memories during “Stephan’s Six”.

STEPHAN'S SIX - RIA JONES

Ria Jones really is one of the First Ladies of British Musical Theatre. The daughter of an Opera Singer and the sister of Ceri Dupri, one of the UK's leading female impersonators, she was born in Swansea and at the age of nineteen started her career in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. More recently she was Glenn Close's understudy in Sunset Boulevard at the London Coliseum where she took audiences by storm when she played the role of Norma Desmond. Just back from 42nd Street in Paris, she took time out to answer "Stephan's Six" ahead of her return to the role of Norma Desmond in a UK Tour.

A well known face at perfume launches and events, Suzy Nightingale was born in Kent and very quickly developed a love of fragrance. After working for various websites and publications the position of Senior Writer for the Perfume Society became available, and she jumped at it. Under the expert guidance of Jo Fairley, a co-founder of the society, Suzy has gone on to win a coveted Jasmine Award for fragrance writing. So, with the spotlight firmly on her for a change, what would we learn about Suzy during "Stephan's Six"?
